Blender

Blender is an open source 3d graphics toolset used primarily for the animation and gaming industry. Since the advent of consumer 3d printing, Blender has become one of the main applications for creating printable STL models. 

Blender is most comparable to surface modeling mode available on Fusion 360, Catia V5, SOLIDWORKS, and other CAD software. The dimensions are unitless, meaning that scale and proportionality are the primary drivers of dimensional accuracy. Blender does not have the capability to produce dimensioned drawings for conventional manufacturing. However, as additive manufacturing requires only a digital model at the appropriate scale, such drawings are unnecessary. 

I began learning Blender in April 2020 as a means to produce my own digital content for 3D Printing.

I spend roughly 30 hours per month modelling on Blender, and an additional 20 hours per month viewing training material on Youtube.
