Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

Visual Basic for Applications is a programming language developed for Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. VBA is similar to Visual Basic, but only operates within an existing application rather than stand-alone execution.

In the engineering world, VBA is a useful language for developing automated spreadsheets or even macros for supported CAD programs such as Catia V5. Repetitive tasks can be written in VBA and reduced to a single button click. VBA macros can be executed from a Python script, which allows for complex automation programs to take advantage of VBA's comfortable interface with the Microsoft Office Suite.

The following links demonstrate my ability to use VBA to give an engineering department a competitive edge.
